This Typhoon III EXTREME is a SUPER upgraded version of the basic Typhoon. It is a 5 stage 150 GPD RODI that comes with a higher volume membrane, plus a DI bypass assembly, plus a RO only valve, plus a Senno hand-held TDS Meter, plus a built-in pressure gauge, plus a built-in TDS alarm, plus a dual in-line TDS meter, plus an upgraded catalytic carbon pre-filter, plus a tubing cutter and plus a float valve ($175 in additional value over the Typhoon ).

Every Typhoon and each of the 7,500 of them made since 2001 are all equipped with a Fast Flush Flow restrictor and an ASOV for automatic top off. We introduced the ASOV to reefkeeping in 2001. The Typhoon unit comes pre-assembled with the filters and membrane installed. Your unit is pressure tested with 65 psi water. The filters and membrane are installed the day we ship. You only need to make three plumbing connections and you are done. Just connect to your source water, waste water and then enjoy zero TDS water, Zip, Zero, Zilch, Nada. NO TDS.

Easy to use push-in fittings make installation a snap. 20 years and thousands of reefkeepers later and still no reports of problems. We offer you a complete one frame system which has all the protection you will ever need.

 

All of our Typhoon machines are equipped with re-usable DI cartridges. The Typhoon is a 5 stage RODI (Reverse Osmosis/De-Ionizing) reefkeeper supplied with a 150 GPD  (TFC) membrane for truly great water quality and production rates. This Typhoon unit comes fully assembled and is equipped will all first class installation hardware, including a sturdy extruded clamp style water supply valve, drain saddle, two in-line ball valves, and 24 feet of 1/4" tubing. We even include the filter wrench. All fittings are push-in, eliminating the need for tools, teflon tape, or glue. Comes with a fast flush flow restrictor to reduce TDS creep and prolong the life of the membrane. This Typhoon III EXTREME is a SUPER upgraded version of the basic Typhoon. The five stages of filtration are as follows: 

Stage 1 - Heavy duty, standard industry size 10 micron Poly Pro Sediment filter.

Stage 2 - An activated granular catalytic carbon filter, removing 99% of chlorine and chloramines. 

Stage 3 - 1 micron acid washed GEM coconut carbon block filter, that removes the remaining chemicals and chlorine.

Stage 4 - 150 GPD TFC membrane removing up to 98% of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)

Stage 5 - A full sized, high capacity, re-usable DI cartridge* to bring the TDS down to ZERO. 


*This vertical color changing resin in the DI cartridge removes any remaining TDS left by the membrane. As the resin is used, the color changes. Once the color change is complete you simply install a new cartridge or buy our bulk resin and refill it. This deionization nuclear grade resin is a mixed bed DI of both Anion & Cation resins made by ResinTech.

Do not forget all of our fittings are quick connect, not some of them; ALL of them- Just push in and you are done.

No Teflon tape, glue, pipe dope, or wrenches needed.


Of course you get our famous pro-installation hardware package:

  • SV-6: The sturdy clamp type supply valve. Not the next to impossible bow tie looking thing. (Or select the garden hose adapter)
  • Drain saddle: Our easy to install drain that clamps over you sink drain piping. Easy!
  • Plus 24 feet of top quality 1/4 inch tubing.
  • Filter wrench: For removing the filter sumps at filter change time.
  • Two in-line ball valves: One for making filter changes a snap. (Just install on the tap water supply tube.) The other is for manual shut off of the pure water, or as a spare for some other connection.
  • Your water pressure will determine the ultimate water production rate. Temperature also matters you need (77) degree water @ (65) psi to get the most from the membrane. The minimum operating pressure is (30) PSI
  • We build your unit in our warehouse using truckloads of component parts..
  • We are not drop shippers. Of course our units offer more value at better prices than our competition. We build our units from the ground up, we do our own order processing, and our own shipping. The drop shippers simply do not stand a ghost of a chance of matching us. Being in business since 1982 can't hurt either.
