"I bought a bag of GAC refill so I wouldn't have to buy new GAC cartridges. However, when I went to refill my old cartridge, the foam sponge on the top had complete disintegrated into a gritty mush, which meant I had to buy a new cartridge, which completely defeats the purpose of buying the GAC refill in the first place. I'm expecting that the sponge in this new one will do the same, but we will see what happens at the next filter change."
