Reverse Osmosis & Aquarium Membrane Overview:

Why choose RO membranes or aquarium membranes from Air, Water & Ice? Here are just some of the key points to understand about these membranes and their importance:

• Membrane Selection: We exclusively use Axeon or Dow Filmtec membranes in our systems. These membranes are renowned for their exceptional performance and durability, ensuring the highest level of water purification.
• Variety of GPD Options: Our range includes 50, 75, and 100 GPD (gallons per day) Dow Filmtec membranes, which are specifically designed to operate at 50 PSI (pounds per square inch) pressure. The average PSI in U.S. homes is 65, showcasing the effectiveness of our systems even under less-than-optimal pressure conditions. Additionally, we offer Axeon 150 GPD membranes rated at 65 PSI, providing even higher water production rates.
• Longevity: With proper maintenance, our membranes typically have a lifespan of 3 to 5 years. Regularly changing prefilters at least once a year is crucial to ensure optimal membrane performance. In cases where prefilters are neglected, membranes may last around 1.5 to 2.5 years, depending on usage levels.
• Aquarium Membrane Replacement: In the context of aquariums, we recommend replacing membranes when they fall below a 90% rejection rate. This ensures that your aquatic environment remains pristine and free from contaminants.
• TDS Testing: To determine the efficiency of your system and whether membrane replacement is necessary, we recommend performing a Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) test. This straightforward process can help you assess water quality accurately.

Our Aquarium & RO Membrane Products

Looking for the correct gallons per day and level of PSI for your system? Air, Water & Ice has several options available. This includes our Filmtec Membrane 50 GPD, which fits most RO systems. The 50 GPD membrane consists of a TFC thin film composite membrane with a 99% rejection rate, which is meant to be used along with the 550 fast flush flow restrictor. We also have the Filmtec Membrane 70 GPD, which is similar, but with a much improved rejection rate at 99% at 50 PSI.

If you're looking for an even more powerful membrane product, we also offer the Filmtec Membrane 100 GPD, which boasts an extremely HIGH rejection rate, and should be used with the 1000 fast flush flow restrictor. Lastly, we have the Axeon 150 GPD Membrane with a 98% rejection rate, high output, and superb TDS rejection. You'll need to use a 1100 fast flow restrictor with the 150 GPD membrane.
